Strickland Confirmed as NHTSA Administrator

On December 24, 2009, the U.S. Senate confirmed David Strickland as the new administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Mr. Strickland has been serving as the senior counsel of the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety and Insurance of the Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, which has jurisdiction over NHTSA.
Mr. Strickland is expected to join the agency at the beginning of the new year.
